I have a confession to make. I've looked at my registries to see what's been purchased. I KNOW! It's really terrible!!!! God, I'm so impatient. My family will read this and think I'm a total nut job. It's just that I'm so excited about what I've registered for. Come on, any of you who hasn't done this before cast the first stone ;-)
Nathan got to experience Baby M having the hiccups last night. I was creating my bed nest (8 pillow contraption, see below) and crawled in when I felt a very rhythmic thud.
I knew Baby M was having hiccups so I called Nathan in and he got to feel them. It was really cute. I read up on it today and the reason why fetus' get them is because they swallow amniotic fluid and exercise their diaphram to get ready for their first breath outside the womb. So yes, it's normal, and it's a great sign of his lung and diaphram development.
Before I forget let me share with you something a stranger told me at lunch that I consider a HUGE NO-NO to mention to a pregnant lady.
So I'm eating lunch at a table out in the patio at work and two girls walk up and ask if they can join me at the table (no more tables left and I was hogging one to myself). So they sat and we had casual talk. They asked me how far along I was, If I knew what I was having, blah, blah, blah, the usual questions asked...When one of the asked me if this was my first and I said, "Technically no. I had a miscarriage back in August." And that sparked a whole other discussion. Then the conversation turns sour when one of them said, "You know, I have a friend who's a little older who had a miscarriage at 7 months." (Insert a jawdrop here) HELLLOOOOOO, I"M 7 months, and WHY would you tell me that?! So I reply, "Oh wow.........soooo, do they know why it happened?" And she said, "No." Great way to leave a pregnant and already anxious woman hanging. So yea, that was really insensitive and stupid to say, but what are you going to do right?
