In just 2 weeks...

...We will find out whether we're having a boy or a girl! So mark your calendars, January 29th! Let's pray we don't have a modest baby who crosses it's legs for the fun of torturing us.

For the past week now, I've had such a hard time staying asleep at night. I either wake up to pee or my left leg goes numb because I'm training myself to lie on that side. I'm *this close to buying a body pillow, seriously. Plus the fact that I'm still sick and can't breathe through either nostril doesn't help. I'm completely amazed at how having a cold does not effect the baby one bit. Whew!

I had my OB/GYN appointment this morning and we got to heart Baby M's heartbeat again, along with some movement. My uterus is already reaching close to where my belly button is. I had no idea how to find it, but with the help of the nurse I did. I should be feeling some movement within the next couple of weeks! I thought I felt the baby move the other night while I was laying down, but then again, it could have been the "fluttering sensation" of gas, LOL!

I'm now down to 4 pairs of pant that still button at my waist. I feel like I'm on that line of "Is she pregnant or has she gained some belly fat" stage. It's left me feeling unattractive too. I know, I know, I shouldn't feel this way and I even hate to admit it. As soon as my energy comes back from fighting this cold, I'll be going to the gym more so I can maintain my strength and stability. My mom got me the Prenatal Yoga DVD I wanted and I love it. The video's great because it has workouts for different trimesters and it focuses on stretching your pelvic muscles and strengthening your core.

Nathan will be taking side pictures of my belly so we can track Baby M's growth, so that should be fun.

Stats:

Age of fetus: As of tomorrow, 16 weeks
What's going on this week:
In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails.
Baby's Size: about the size of an avocado(4 1/2 inches long) — and weighs 3 1/2 ounces
Mood: Irritable
Cravings: Twizlers, the red ones.
Energy: Low from being sick
Morning Sickness: NONE!!!

How exciting! I can't wait!

Go out and buy that body pillow. Now. Don't wait until you just. can't. take. it. any. more. to buy it because you will get to that point and then you'll wonder why you waited so long. lol

And I know just what you mean. Don't feel bad. The hey-my-boobs-grew-but-I'm-still-skinny phase is great and the oooh-look-at-my-cute-pregnant-belly phase is great but the inbetween is a little embarrassing.
